| Thallus ±subsquamulose, ±closely adnate, 0.2–1 cm wide or coalescing to c. 5 cm, 35–75 µm thick, usually dull leaden grey or browned. Lobes rotund to ±narrowly oblong, flat to finally concave, ±undulate, 0.5–2 mm wide; margins ±sinuate, often lobulate, sometimes erose; lobules usually narrowly linear to subterete, ±branched; surfaces smooth to roughened, matt, not isidiate. Lower surface naked or with minute rhizines. Apothecia laminal, sessile, 0.5–2 mm wide; thalline exciple finally recurved, usually cream; disc concave to finally strongly convex, hiding margin, pale brown to brown. Ascospores 8 per ascus, ellipsoidal, submuriform, 20–33 × 7–10 µm; apices obtuse. Pycnidia not seen. | ||
| Occurs from south-eastern N.S.W. to Vic. and Tas.; also in New Zealand. Grows on bark and moss. | ||
